Much smaller than the picture, uncomfortable to put on

This is a very cool idea and I wish it could work better but unfortunately this product leaves a lot to be desired. First, it's not clear how it works. Should be attached to the sofa. The part that goes over the arm is easy to understand, but the bottom wasn't very clear. They were just long strips of not very strong velcro and no explanation of what to do with them. I eventually figured out that they need to wrap around the legs of the sofa and fasten with velcro. So if you have a legless sofa, there is no way to attach it underneath. You're not very sure either. The velcro is not a permanent fastener so it pulls the strips out of their legs every time my cats scratch it. So they're pretty much useless. Also, they only work well on sofas where the armrests are completely straight. As you can see from the photos I have a sofa with rounded armrests and the height of this scraper is such that it gets into the rounded part and doesn't lay flat. This creates a gap between the scratching post and the couch which my cats find to be a very fun hiding spot to play in. Not to mention that cats don't really want to scratch him because instead of staying to get a good one by scratching hard, he gets off the couch due to fit issues and they're embarrassed because it looks like they should be able to scratch that scratchy stuff but it won't stay in place for them. So they don't really use it much. Finally, it's very short in width and I don't see how it can cover the front armrest of the sofa and reach the back of the sofa. My sofa is a very old Ikea sofa that I got about 15 years ago when I moved into an apartment where the doorway in the hallway was so narrow that my sofa at the time couldn't get through. So I had to look for the narrowest sofa. My couch is 34 inches front to back, which is not very big at all. This scraper is only 61cm long and part of that 61cm needs to wrap around the front of the sofa armrest. Good luck getting it to cover the entire side of your sofa. I really loved this product. I wanted to solve the problem I have the problem that my cats want to scratch the armrests and the sides of the sofa and I don't like the double sided tape option because it collects dust and hair and makes my sofa look disgusting. I think it's a great smart idea, but it still has a lot of design flaws that make it unusable and not worth buying. If they could make it wider and actually cover the entire side of the sofa as shown in the promotional image and they had a better way to attach it at the bottom with a more secure, firm velcro or other bottom option, this would be a much better one Product If I corrected those two things, I could even make this work with the couch armrests rounded at the top. Great concept but don't waste money until design issues are fixed.
