I have now received more than one of these type of cat condos from Revain and for the most part they are all quite similar. Some are better than others, but around this price point, they get the job done without surprising me. So why 3.5 stars (rounded down to three)?1. -0.5 Stars: This is a good overall size, but the hammock, crate, basket and ring are designed for small cats. Our 10-12 lb cat entertained us for a few minutes and tried her best to get the basket working but eventually moved on. I don't think she would reasonably fit into any of the other three - and this is a cat that will go to great lengths to get into anything. However, measurements were provided so I don't take much photos for it. I went ahead and got it because a bunch of reviews said "even their really big cats" used this stuff. Not in my experience. Our cat sits on the top two platforms and is able to sit on the base, but that's about it for 'resting areas'. Although fair enough.2. -.5 Stars: The instructions were adequate but not entirely clear. We may have missed something, but we were supposed to have 14 screws of a certain type, and we only had 13. Fortunately, there was an "extra" screw that was the same diameter but about a half inch longer, and it did the job. Just weird. Again, charts were sufficient, but they could have been more descriptive.3. -1 star: The fur filling is very thin. It's not that much of a problem on flat surfaces, but the corners are sharp. Luckily we don't have toddlers to play with it and our cat can handle it on her own, but if that could be a problem you might want to think twice. Other problems: - The fur is already thin and pulls out quite easily. This isn't surprising at this price point, but again, it's worth mentioning. Our cat didn't pull anything out, so as long as she doesn't develop an opposable thumb and destructive posture, she'll be fine. brown is ok Just as good as any other color of these cat apartments. It's a medium brown, maybe not as dark as the picture but it's close. But we all know the quality of the fabric and colors we buy here, so here we go. What about the good stuff?+ They're a good size and my cat runs a little higher than some other condos in this price range+. The platforms are a good size so that while my cat won't fit in most nooks and crannies, at least she can sit comfortably where she can+. Fur is thin but soft. We'll have to wait and see how well it wears. + It was relatively easy to assemble. + Great price around the $60-70 mark! or problems in assembling or maintaining its stable operation. You just need to make sure the long double sided screws are in place so that the top and bottom supports fit/fix to each other. Then make sure you tighten things up tight enough. Maybe next time I'll save up for a solo work. I'm not sure how long I want to put up with this quality and style of cat furniture in my living room, but for now I'm happy with it.
