Review on Wi-Fi router ASUS RT-AC66U, black by Ada Markiewicz ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I definitely recommend buying, I didn't notice any disadvantages.

I took the TP841ND as a replacement - it served 3 years and is still working, although the Wi-Fi fell off if the microwave was turned on and at that time the TV in the kitchen was working through DLNA, also under a stress test - auto-ating Win10 and youtube 1080 60fps the old man fell off and helped him to reboot the current , now in the kitchen and withstands the stress test. WAN DOMRU 70Mbps, 1TV Ethernet, behind it this device is hidden on the wall, 1TV 2.4 GHz it is in the kitchen, 5 Ghz has a smaller range, 1TV 5Ghz in the next room - streaming on this TV now does not lag, even under a working Samba ( at 1 Gbps, the transfer rate is 10 Mbps, at 100 Mbps, 6 Mbps), and smart Samsung with Wifi auto-switching, it is not enough in the ipad, 1 Peck on the ethernet for ~ 0 ping, laptop at 5Ghz, and Kindle on the old 2.4. and on the router itself download master c wd passport ultra. Compared to the 841ND, in the long range, Wi-Fi has risen from 15Mbps to 30Mbps, in moderate operation the signal does not drop below 60, 5GHZ auto-tuning, 2.4 Ghz no higher than 8 channels. 1st impression - for which I overpaid 10 times, it would be better to take 842nd and suffer with alternative firmware, after a week of use and setup I am very pleased with my purchase, I had to adjust the connections before, now I need to monitor the work of SAMBA. I hope the confusion of what is written will help someone make a choice.

Pros
  • Excellent device, unloaded 2.4 Ghz Wifi, 5 GHz Built-in torrent client accessible from outside, this interface does not work on ipad (on android everything is fine. Possibility of wall mounting, hide behind the TV on the bracket.
Cons
  • Prots, the neck of the system in its 100% load, either DLNA or SAMBA works, but if SAMBA is accessed via the ezernet, and streaming via 5Ghz Wi-Fi, a little more lag is possible, but not complete friezes.
