Review on BESTTEN Receptacle Electrical Resistant Decorator by Jeffrey Johnston

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works well! (Note: Cannot be used in a split circuit kitchen)

I bought this to solve two problems: First, I wanted to "child proof" some outlets due to what's at us grandchildren lives. A sliding "curtain" (I don't know exactly what it's called) built into the socket's "holes" slides aside when plugged in and automatically closes when pulled out. Second, we tend to have a lot of USB. - Rechargeable devices in the home, making it safer and more convenient to use. They're not too deep, so they should be able to replace your current outlets with just about any depth outlet you already have installed. per se. I say that because theoretically you could cover the outlets with one of those childproof plastic caps to be absolutely sure a child can't put anything into the electrical areas. However, you can still charge your USB devices without having to remove the plastic covers from the sockets each time. I hope sliding curtains will do, but I'm sure some kids will still try to put things in the holes. Just a note on kitchen chains. Some kitchens have "split contours". This means that all of the lower outlets are connected to one circuit and the upper ones to another. This is useful because kitchen appliances like microwaves, toasters, and other appliances can overload the circuit if they are all used at the same time. So please note that these particular Bestten jacks only have one hot and one neutral wire coming out the back and therefore you cannot separate the top jack from the bottom jack. However, I will only replace two of the six. Outlets in my kitchen with these outlets, so I'm just going to bypass the existing wires in these outlets to make them a single circuit. Overall they look stylish and will greatly improve our ability to protect our grandchildren and make USB charging more convenient.
