I have nice new metal floors that I don't want to scratch.

Good value for money. I have nice new metal floors that I don't want to scratch, so coasters were out of the question. I had just installed an all white Ikea ALGOT workstation/wardrobe and wanted something that complemented the minimalist Scandinavian design rather than the usual black chunky computer chair. Now I'm fed up with fakes most of the time and would rather buy the 'real thing', but at around $1,500 the real thing is out of the question. Meet the Lexington Modern Tulip chair. One big noticeable difference is that it's made out of plastic and not fiberglass, if it were fiberglass I'd be willing to spend a few bucks more on it, but for 1/10th the price of the original I'll take what I can big package but it's quite a lightweight chair - according to UPS the whole package weighs about 20lbs and most of the weight is on the aluminum base It is assembled by screwing the top and steel plate onto the aluminum base with a screw hex head which is included (very Ikea!) if If you order red, you just have to peel off the white Velcro that is attached to the cushion and attach it firmly, a comfortable chair, and a perfectly rounded back gently hugs your buttocks , which is very relaxing. The chair is quiet at the moment, but I do notice that the bearings aren't entirely smooth when I rock a bit fast (I can feel vibrations), so I might take another reviewer's suggestion to replace the bearings. As for my floors - the bottom is covered with felt, thanks to which it glides easily and quietly on a hard floor without scratching it. The felt is white so if you don't clean thoroughly I can see it going grey/dirty quickly. Also, it's a fantastic chair and well worth the price if you want a bit of "design" without investing your life. to her.
