They are perfect for what we needed - an inexpensive way to make our dining chairs presentable until our kids outgrow the mess and we can justify new ones to match our table (currently featuring older chairs). I'm only taking off the last star because they are so see through! It's ok for our daily needs but I think it's tasteless when we have guests etc. (But definitely better than the original chair itself!) We haven't washed them yet to see how they hold up but they have so far works great no tears/tears by 4, 6 and 36 year olds in daily use. I'm hoping to find some sort of padding on the cushion to increase the chair's comfort and minimize transparency.
