I ordered this printer after reading some very positive reviews and the test prints initially looked great. Then things quickly went downhill. It was only my second 3D printer so I'm still quite a noob but the cadet I got seems broken. Here are a few issues I encountered: Wi-Fi - worked exactly once and never reconnected. As it stands, this isn't a big deal in and of itself as Wi-Fi usage is minimal at best, but I expected it to work on more than one occasion. Magnetic build plate - this thing seriously lacks holding power. Quite often I've seen the build plate move quite a bit during printing even though it seemed pretty tight when it was first attached. Z-axis controller/motor/? -- after adjusting the z-offset, I thought everything was fine, then I started printing and went about my business. Suddenly I started hearing all sorts of rumblings. It turned out that the Z axis with the nozzle hit the build plate just enough to scratch the plate. Very annoying and pretty much the last straw so I decided to return the printer. I wasted too much filament on a printer that should be this easy to use. Positive sides? Well, the platform's auto-leveling seemed to work well on the rare occasions when a print was successful, so that's something. My other printer is also a Monoprice and after the usual small tweaks it worked fine. However, my copy of "Cadet" appears to be faulty or defective. Damn.
