Review on ๐Ÿชต Woodworking Respirator for Polishing, Decoration, and Protection by Erik Peterson

A good choice for the do-it-yourselfer for the price. That's convenient!

I have a couple of these masks because I want to start a painting job that involves painting knotty pine panels. To do this I have to use a petroleum based primer saturated with VOC fumes. It will take several days to paint, and I don't want to breathe in those fumes for that long. A year ago they were impossible to find as they had all been turned over to first responders but now that they are easy to find again I wanted something relatively inexpensive but more effective than a regular N-95 mask. It's very light and frankly, it's a pleasure to wear. This is very handy when it comes to full face masks. My biggest issue with this mask is that I don't fully trust the sigil. It is made of flexible rubber that sticks to the surface to form a seal. You need to tighten the straps to keep the mask close to your face and prevent outside air from entering. I feel the rubber is too flexible and when I move my head or mouth it seems to me that there can be a small gap between the skin and the rubber. My other masks are much less comfortable and light, but there is no doubt that the closure is tight and protected. It wouldn't stop me from wearing that mask while painting around the smoke, but at the same time it makes me think. Another small issue I had with this mask is that when wearing it you can see a slight reflection from the inner white mask and black vents. It's very easy. But if you're doing fine detail in painting or woodwork, this can be a problem. I took a photo of the inside of the mask as if worn (the one with the framed picture in the background) where you can see the reflection from the nozzle. For my needs this is not a big obstacle. but it might be for you In addition, you get all sorts of filters and accessories. There is a two-piece filtration system with a pair of sealed carbon filters and an N-95 fabric filter. The kit also comes with two pink filter pads which I'm not familiar with. You get a cheap black bag to put anything in. Unless I overlooked it, there were no instructions. It seems easy to understand. but it's odd that something with so much detail doesn't come with a poorly written guide these days. Overall, this is a great choice for anyone planning on painting, sanding, etc. While this is the most comfortable full face mask, I'll admit that these really aren't goggles I would choose for their reliability given their somewhat disconcerting sealing ability. . However, in terms of cost and convenience, I would say it would be a good device. it works well. I haven't had the chance to wear it for several hours in a row, but I don't see any problems.
