Yes, it takes time to warm up and wake up BUT what do you expect from someone who is twice your age? I've used it hunting for a total of 3 weeks this year. It was used on a large 3 burner stove which cooks faster than a regular 2 burner green stove. Drop onto a bigger stove - after 3 weeks of cooking the clear plastic handle on top started to melt. Like I said, it's not the manufacturer's fault. It was because of the big propane burners and the people who turned them too hard. Mine still works perfectly, and for the price I have NO complaints as it brewed 3.5 cans of coffee in 3 weeks!
