These magnetic buttons are easy to use. I wanted to fit the set into my purse so I could quickly close my purse without having to constantly use the existing zipper. Unfortunately, the magnet isn't strong enough to hold contact and modest displacement of the pouch opening weakens the hold. It also means you have to find both sides to snap them together, rather than having one side magnetically find the other side to snap them together (like most magnetic closure pouches). Perhaps putting two on the sides instead of just one in the middle would provide better support. I don't think they're useless, but I wish they were better. All in all you get what you paid for.
