Review on πŸ’» SilverStone Wireless ES02 USB Interface for Enhanced Connectivity by Tyler Markham

Should now be an updated model. No longer lose the pairing in case of power failure!

I got one of these about 9 months ago and it worked fine but it was annoying that it lost pairing with the remote when the USB power was turned off (and that anyway all he uses is USB). This way I no longer have to use the USB rechargeable battery built into this module to keep it paired with the remote control if the power goes out (or the motherboard disconnects) as was previously required. So I think Silverstone must have taken the feedback and changed the pairing to non-volatile memory because this time it was pre-paired and won't lose the pairing. It is much better not to use the battery. I still have the old one which works fine and this one works great too but doesn't require constant power to keep it paired with the remote - which should have been the first. Also, I wish Silverstone had a USB port. Extension cords, not just that annoyingly huge 2-way splitter that doesn't fit many boards (even the module itself is a bit cramped on ITX systems). Otherwise I can't complain. It works great and does what it's supposed to. SILVERSTONE: Thanks for fixing the pairing issue! In the future, please also include a short USB extension cable so that the module can be removed from the circuit board. It's big and the ITX motherboards are very close together, so there's not much more room than the width of the interconnect cable. And the splinter is even worse. With the 6 inch USB extension cable, you can install it on more systems. You will also likely need to use double-sided tape on the back of the module as insulation is required for remote mounting. much more tolerable. Thanks very much!
