I'm planning to do a month long motorcycle trip at the end of April and thought I could use the device to secure a 50 liter dry bag when the bike is out of place (when I'm going to the grocery store, going to the toilet, etc.). However, after receiving the product, I decided to return it and look for an alternative. PacSafe Protector can prevent someone getting away with your carry-on or backpack in a public place. But I wouldn't trust him"close and go". As other reviewers point out, the holes in the mesh are quite large. Big enough to put your hand through. Big enough for someone to cut open your bag. A determined thief can easily cut through adjacent holes in the web. That way they can search your bag and find something small enough to fit through the mesh. As for the "lock and go" idea, search "PacSafe Security Bag Weakness" on YouTube and you'll see how tough it is to crack open a bag. lock included. And while you can pick up a much better padlock for $10-$20, I don't think it's worth the money or the extra hassle considering the other downsides. To advertise that this net will protect a 55 liter backpack is not only optimistic but also dishonest. 55 liters can be used if you put in a contractor's bag and pour in 55 liters of water. But who carries their stuff in a contractor's bag? I have included some photos showing how well the Pacsafe 55L does NOT protect a Jansport Katahdin 50L backpack that was about 2/3 full. In the first photo is my attempt to put the mesh over the backpack and close it. Bottom. nope It's not going to happen. The next photo shows the bag from the side. You may have noticed that this is far from "complete". The last two photos show the mesh being placed on the backpack from back to front (the method shown in the PacSafe videos). Even from back to front (front where the backpack meets the back) it is not possible to fully close the mesh without "folding" the bag (which would be impossible if it were "full") . This leaves an opening large enough for someone to pop out the bag and remove all of its contents. And while that's not a downside, this product can feel quite heavy when you're actually carrying your backpack. To me, adding an extra 1lb 2oz to my regular 20lb backpack is not an attractive idea.
