I have been a Pyrex customer for many years. I try to avoid plastic and only use glass for storage. I also buy products that are made in the USA whenever possible. I have always felt safe with Pyrex as it is high quality glass made in the USA. I have over 40 glass storage jars, 4 mixing bowls, and a couple of Pyrex baking pans that are stamped "Made in USA" on the bottom. When I received them, I immediately noticed that it said 'Made in Egypt' on the bottom instead. After emailing the company and browsing their website, I discovered that some of their products are now made in Egypt and Turkey. The description on the website says they are made in the USA but I think they can get away with it as the lids are still made here. We need to bring production back to our country and not allow one of the few companies that actually manufacture here to outsource. Very disappointing because I really love Pyrex products. I am returning the shells and will look for Anchor Hocking products that I know are made in the USA.
