So I had problems with soccer balls and black foam that came with my lathes. Also, I prefer black foam, but I only have one, and that's where my search began. I found them to be more durable (and they are) and could possibly solve some of my problems. They did and they didn't, hence the average rating. Firstly they are very durable and the price for what you get is great. This is by no means a negative review. I ordered and they arrived quickly and exactly as advertised. In this case, the foam is too strong, I mean it is difficult to get into some items, and it is difficult to reach the turner, because the hole is very small, which in turn has its advantages and disadvantages. This means it's a snug fit so nothing just slides around. You should work. I should note that my turners are fixed so I don't remove the post. What could be the problem. So I have to insert the required elements into the object I'm working on, sometimes with more than one, and then jog them on the lathe, which isn't easy. It would be much easier to load them onto a turner than to put a product on them. That's not possible either, because the foam is very strong and gives very little. Which again is a plus/minus scenario. Also, it's a hard foam. So if you're using epoxy for turning and you have even the tiniest drop over the edge - and it happens, and in most cases it's unavoidable - it sticks like super glue. And again, since they don't "slip" I have to wait until the cup/object is hard enough to grip so I can wring it out. While I was careful with the epoxy there was a bit of bleeding and it ripped the foam and it was twice as hard to get the rest of the item due to the secondary surface sticking. So I ordered the black foam I was originally going to order and will keep them handy. Again, I do not intend to imply a negative experience, just a bit of an understanding of what you will be getting. If only they were a little more flexible. For every positive in these there is a negative and vice versa. I will not send them back as I believe that they will help me with other projects and support my hobby even in difficult situations.
