Lots of protection but awkward to use

I bought this for Samsung Tab A 8.4. The tablet is very thin and easy to drop, so I needed a case. It looked good based on the reviews, but it has a few major issues. First, good. It was easy to install and looks like it will protect the tablet from falls. I intend to use it on the boat as an extra backup navigation device and I think it will be a good fit. A wrist strap will probably work well for a boat, and a wrist strap might help as well - I'll revisit this review after trying it on a boat. Now for the bad. I think it might be for kids. It's big and knotty and the strap isn't designed for an adult hand - it needs to be at least 2 inches longer (I have normal adult hands) and with big hands the strap is uncomfortable to use for a very long time and if you're using it not use it, the strap interferes with the tablet. The curvature is good for the buttons, but makes handling them awkward. The strap makes the stand difficult to use, so you don't really want to get up with the stand extended. Haven't tried the earbuds but they seem to fit well. The charging port fits well. The menu at the top of the screen is a little tricky because the thumbnail is so big and it's over the edge of the tablet. The case easily weighs as much as a tablet, so with this case you double the weight of your tablet. I bought the purple case for visibility, but the purple makes up a small part of the case - it's mostly black - so a bit of purple doesn't make it very noticeable. Yellow or lemon green would probably be better. Good protection for $20 but a bit uncomfortable to hold and use due to the protection.
