Functional but could be better

Pros: Bright light, and it's nice to have both cool and warm lights (press and hold to toggle through), each with 3 brightness settings. I also really like that it's rechargeable; No more searching for small watch batteries! The gooseneck is very flexible so you shouldn't have any trouble finding the right angle. Cons: At the lowest light level you have to cycle through all the brightness settings to turn it off, low-medium-high as there is only one button per light to control everything. This can wake up a light-sensitive partner if you're trying to read in bed without disturbing them. It would be much better if there was a separate brightness control. Also, pressing the button is quite a loud click - if you have a sensitive partner like me, it can easily wake them up. Finally, the lowest brightness is still a bit brighter than I would have liked. We tried it one night and my husband immediately dismissed it, saying he'd rather read with the fairy lights over our bed than this book lamp - which was unexpected because the fairy lights definitely brighten the room more, but he thought that the brightness concentrated in the book light was too great. Bottom line: if you're buying this to avoid disturbing your sleeping partner, and your partner is a decent sound sleeper, you may be fine. If your partner is NOT a heavy sleeper, this probably isn't the best choice for you. The brightness is good. So if you want to read better in a dark room, this product might be for you. It will probably work well as a craft lantern too, which is probably what I'll be using it for.

Pros
  • Annual trial
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.
