Review on Stylish Girls' White Dresses: Jennifer Close Collection for Girls' Clothing by Christopher Lewis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Extremely disappointed

I've seen this book on several lists of books to read by the age of 20 so I was dying to get my hands on it. My high expectations were raised when I realized this was a bestseller, but they were not met when I closed the back cover. The plot is disjointed as mentioned in other reviews. The characters are so vague and uninteresting that it's hard to follow them. Close's style and structure make matters worse. Boring word choices and often contradictory verb tenses are just a few examples of serious mistakes that Close makes that really damage the book. What's worse, however, is that several "plots" strung together don't make a coherent whole and don't do what I was hoping for, namely to give life at 20 more meaning. I ended up just wondering why I was reading some sad, boring stories about girls who had less interesting lives than my own.
