They are ideal for large items and offer more flexibility than smaller bags. My wife and I love them and recommend them on top of what might come with your food screensaver. One side is textured and the other side is smooth. Some food seals require the texture to be either up or down. Mine seems to work best with these bags textured side down. They seem to last a long time but when they run out I just order more. Because they're 11 inches wide, you can cut and seal them for a variety of sizes. They are also the maximum size that I can use with my food screensaver.
