I think the best shoes for kids are the ones that allow the muscles in the foot to do their job while protecting them from the weather. (WIDE toe, flexible and impenetrable sole, zero positive heel). The toe was wider than many similar styles! There was no heel! Aside from the very stiff sole, it was a nice shoe in a nice neutral color.
