They come ready to use and take up a lot less space! We don't use commercial dishwashing liquid or rinse aid and that wasn't a problem with our old dishes. These stains show up pretty well, but if you dry dry I bet it's not a problem. If you happen to use homemade dish soap, use vinegar instead of dry cleaner, and also love spotless dishes, then maybe not this one.
