Works with Skull & Co. GripCase

I purchased the BASSTOP Replacement Dock Carrying Case and J&TOP DIY Replacement Dock Bracket because I could not find any information on how to install the Skull & Co GripCase Set and fit into the protective carrying case that comes with the GripCase . Both BASSTOP and J&TOP DIY are made from molded ABS plastic, which gives a nice, professional look and makes for a much more portable docking station. First the J&TOP DIY: I love the J&TOP style with the vents creating the switch logo as well as space for a green light. The case is slightly larger than the BASSTOP, which allows for more airflow, although I'm not sure if that's really necessary as the OEM dock doesn't have as many vents, but it doesn't take up as much space either. Now for the BASSTOP: this case is in a smaller form factor and only the vents on the back for any sort of airflow need to see if that won't be an issue in the future. There's no room for a green light, some people on YouTube trimmed it down appropriately, others just ignored it. I applied a dab of gel super glue to the plastic light diffuser and glued it to one of the side vents, then added a small dab of glue to the light panel to secure it to the diffuser. Between the adhesive and the motherboard it seems to help stay in place. Time will tell if he survives. As for the Skull & Co GripCase, both docks allow you to place the Switch with the GripCase attached, so at least with my setup I'd say either will work with this particular case. As for the size of the docking case, I wanted it to fit inside the protective sleeve that comes with the GripCase. While I personally liked the look of the J&TOP DIY case better, only the BASSTOP allows the area where the console sits to match the design. And as a bonus, the power cord also fits in the same cavity, while the J&TOP DIY was a little tight. I'll end up using the smaller BASSTOP case because it fits the protective case better. I would recommend any dock case if you are looking for a way to make your dock more portable. Assembly is easy after watching a youtube video and it took me less than 30 minutes to take the OEM switch dock apart and pack everything into the BASSTOP case including where and how the light to assemble and reassemble the empty OEM dock. I hope that was helpful.
