Not a very good microphone. Excellent Sound

The sound in the headset is excellent. When I first started using a headset, my callers could hear me perfectly, but today no one can hear me no matter what I do except bring the mic very close to my mouth. It's only been about 3 weeks and the microphone hasn't worked for a long time.
