Unlike cheaper mic stands with protruding springs, this mic stand is much better quality and very durable. While initially stiff, it will loosen up over time (mine has already started to loosen). Despite this, it retains its quality and durability. The metal used is thicker than cheaper alternatives and overall it's just a very solid mic boom with good adjustability. It's definitely worth it for its price, especially when compared to those with exposed springs.
