Review on ViewSonic VG2765 Ergonomic Monitor - 2560X1440P DisplayPort LCD by Jason Benitez

I bought it to use with an old Dell T7500 workstation with an Nvidia Quadro FX 5800 graphics card. The most frustrating thing I've noticed so far is the monitor inexplicably turning off after making an internal clicking noise . I've only had him one day and he's done it about 6 times. If it inexplicably turns off, the power button isn't working and the only way to turn it back on is to unplug it and then plug it back in. Monitor as playback device. This is probably not due to the monitor, because it works perfectly with a much newer Asus laptop. It would be nice if this monitor had an analog input. This would alleviate any problems with digital audio. It pains me to give this one star because the video quality is excellent and there is an option to adjust the monitor stand, but if the inexplicable disconnection issue persists I have no choice but to return it. I've searched for answers to this problem but haven't found any information. I have not contacted Viewsonic tech support yet and if they find a permanent solution I will update this review with a higher rating. Until then, however, I cannot justify rating this product more than one star. UPDATE (March 26, 2018): After explaining the issue to Viewsonic, their rep said it sounds like a power board issue and said to send it back to Revain for a replacement. I will only be returning it for a refund as I now know there is an inherent problem with the power board in these things. If this happens to one monitor, it can happen to others as well. As an electronics engineer with 40 years of experience, I know that these marks can indicate a design flaw. It's a shame because the video quality and color reproduction are excellent. However, this means nothing if the monitor does not stay on.
