Very easy to connect and set up. Not as much control over colors and patterns as I'd like - just what's on the remote. I would expect color management from the app, but if I'm not missing anything, it's not there. In addition, the string is quite large. The response to the music is pretty good and the patterns are cool. The bulbs themselves are semi-soft, silicone-like, so I'm not too worried about them breaking. In any case, an external household item is unlikely to last long. Edit to add: I, not the app, had way more control over colors and patterns than I thought. You can even control the light sensitivity to respond to music.
