This will be a very warm coat even by Oregon standards. We're not often into teens but definitely in our 20's and I'm sure this coat will work well. I compare it to my current coat which isn't half as nice or lined and has kept me warm in these areas for the past 8 years. Now for your concerns; Height: I'm just under 6ft tall and weigh 260 but you would never guess that I was that heavy as I carry my weight evenly between my neck and knees. Normally I would have bought the XXL but after reading these reviews I decided to go for the XL. That's good too, because I was sure I'd swim in it just by looking at it in the box. It has some bulk but when I tried it on it was perfect for the sleeve length and about my height, with room for a heavy shirt at the bottom for extra insulation. I don't expect to ever need anything extra in this coat. So if you're built like me, you should go down a size. If you are the same height and weight but have narrow legs, wear size 38 pants and have a big belly, you can order your size. The impregnation allegedly used is on one of the 4 signs I found. I expect (hope?) that it will come loose with use/washing, but that's not the main thing. The inner lining is as smooth as silk and the ribbed cuffs are soft with snaps to keep drafts out, so the overall feel is comfortable, while the fleece-lined collar and detachable hood make it even cozier. Pockets: 5 on the right side. 6 on the left side of the sleeve. The pockets behind the bottom 2 on each side are slit and cut at an odd angle making them a little awkward to use, and there are 2 pockets on the inner chest behind the outer ones, almost like a jacket. I think it's a great place for a tissue or cell phone if you don't use the shoulder bag for that. Then there are 2 that I happened to find in the zipper flaps on each side at chest level. That surprised me! Zippers: Plastic but not cheap, and the double front zipper comes in handy when you're in a car. This allows you to unzip the zipper a few inches to compensate for the stiffness and bulk of a jacket or roadside emergency stop. Color: Mine is "Graphite" which just means light black (not grey). I think that covers most of the comments and questions I've read about this coat. I already like it a lot, although I haven't been able to wear it lately. Today the temperature is below 60 (strange for this time of year) and it's too warm for this coat. I'll post an update if needed, but I don't see anything negative to say.
