This scarf fits almost every shoulder size of women, from small to extra large. It adds warmth to clothing when someone is sitting to read or write, which is why I bought it. It can be a little chilly sitting in an air-conditioned room in a house or building that isn't cold enough to turn on the heat. Pockets are a plus for storing markers or pens needed when reading/writing. It hasn't had to be washed yet, but the fleece is already thick and flat, so it shouldn't curl up or change shape like a fleece goes from fluffy to flat.
