Okay, as far as I can tell.

This is my first experience with thread #69 so I don't have a comparison and can't tell if it's really thread #69 like some other reviewers. I had a project sewing Cordura 500D nylon and the recommended thread type was #69. I knew I had to buy more than I needed so I shopped for the price so I bought that on purpose. Here is my experience. I used it to sew 500D Cordura Nylon and 12oz. Denim sewn on a Janome home sewing machine with a 16/100 needle. The thread consists of twisted three strands. As you cut, the strands will want to unravel unless you use VERY sharp scissors. This can make threading the needle difficult. The thread is very stiff; You don't have to "unpick" the seams by undoing the seams, just have a seam ripper handy. Sometimes the threads "fluff" as they pass through the eye of the needle, and if the machine doesn't get stuck when you notice it, it will if you don't cut the thread and rethread the needle. Thread requires MUCH higher tension than usual, be sure to check for leftovers and adjust before starting. I don't think this is my machine's problem, but a trait of the thread; I couldn't make a narrow zigzag (about 1 stitch long) without jamming the machine and creating a bird's nest on the wrong side. Wider zigzags were fine (about 2 1/2). That is my experience. Would I buy this again? I just did it, I needed a different color for a new project. I'm giving it five stars because I don't know any better and have no other experience with thread #69 to compare it to.
