For me this is just the right weight that makes me feel safe and comfortable. I actually use it with my electric blanket and blanket and don't find it gets too hot for me. I like the feeling when I sink into all my hiding spots and fall asleep at night. I grew up in a northern home with no central heating, so my mom threw some blankets and blankets over me to keep me warm. Maybe that's why I enjoy the burden on myself because I associate it with beautiful memories of a long-gone family. Whatever the reason, it works like a charm for me.
