Turned out to be a good belt.

I bought this belt about a year and a half ago and it had a strong oily smell and wasn't soft. The smell of oil went away after a few weeks and the belt softened over time. Now it is often worn with jeans.

Pros

Genuine leather, durable construction and great price. Definitely recommend.

Cons

The bolt holding the strap loosens further and the strap falls apart.
