Review on ๐ŸŽถ Enhanced Audio-Technica AT-VM95E Dual Moving Magnet Turntable Cartridge in Green by Vinay Verma แ Œ

I should have looked better, spent money on an ordinary product.

I took a replacement for the Chinese BUM head from China Express on the newly purchased Akai ap-d40. Since there is a Technics 3300 player, bought from Japan with a native 1979 cartridge of the Technics 270C type, and there is something to compare with and more than 50 layers have been listened to on it, that is, an understanding of how it sounds. 270 budget cartridge and it is with a cone structure. Thinking that taking an elliptical 95 would sound more interesting. She is packaged well. I quickly set up on Akaevโ€™s headshell, set up the tonearm, in anticipation that now Iโ€™ll hear something at the level of an old techie who exchanged 4 dozen, and maybe even better, but alas, it sounds a little better than the Chinese boom, delivered by the previous owner of akai. The top is littered, the bottom, on the contrary, is squeezed out with the middle. Tried it all on one vinyl, on one proofreader. At night I put it on repeat for "lapping". The situation has improved. According to the test plate, there are noticeable frequency response dips in the region of 11 kilohertz and above. But the middle stands out above. Therefore, I see 2 ways, either switching completely to mc, which is not budgetary, or buying up NOS (new old school, old, unused), the same situation with Ortofon om5e and ortofom 2m red. Of the available only orthophon 2m bronze and technics 270c play nicely. Others are just for the heap.

Pros
  • Affordable price, light fastening screws
Cons
  • Sound quality
