This is a piece of foam insulation that works 100%. I live in an old house (102 years old) and our windows have a huge gap when you open them. Unfortunately our downstairs air conditioning failed so we had to use window units. Since they had to enter windows there was a huge gap and hot air rushed in which caused our window units to work overtime and ALWAYS solved this problem. I decided to buy them and while they're not perfect, they've been a great help. I don't experience days with constant "vroom" in the background anymore and it's MUCH colder downstairs than ever before.
