Size 8-9 fits my 7 year old girl perfectly. She said she loves the feel of the fabric.

I took a chance and bought an 8-9 because the sizes on the size chart said it would fit my daughter. She's the second tallest kid in first grade and I think she weighs less than 45 pounds or so. If any of this helps you, thank God.
