Review on πŸ“Ώ Laura McCabe's Embellished Beadweaving: Master Class Jewelry with Fringe, Fronds, Lacework & More - Unleash Your Creativity! by Michelle Langley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I looked through this book many times in my library and finally bought it.

The designs and detailed explanations are inspirational, if a little daunting at times (especially for me when I count how many hundreds of dollars of beads I will probably have to buy despite my vast bead collection to complete one of the complicated projects close). Bracelet made with 45 Czech dagger beads measuring 5 x 16mm PER INCH (and the ones Ms. McCabe uses in her project are intricate, beautiful, high quality ($$$$) daggers). 315 daggers for her 7" bracelet .Aren't those fancy daggers worth more than $1 a bead? The part of this book that I find most helpful, is the creation of individual decorative items such as bead switches, and individual layers of embellishments that the author uses to embellish her beadwork. To copy one of her necklaces, well, I'm not that ambitious just yet, and I probably won't spend the hundreds of hours (and possibly the thousands of hours it would take me to copy her dahlia necklace) and many dollars to make a copy someone else's art. Even if I find most projects beautiful, I prefer instructions for decorative items. and I probably won't spend the hundreds of hours (and possibly the thousands of hours it would take me to copy her dahlia necklace) and many dollars to make a copy of someone else's art.
