I don't often write reviews, but I want to give credit. I didn't want to buy them because some reviews said they don't melt wax in burners, but all the different lamps I looked at had at least a couple of reviews saying this, so I took a chance. none arrived damaged, all bulbs were intact. Second, I put the bulb in a SMALL NIGHT LIGHT SIZE HEATER and when I checked it after about 15 or 20 minutes the wax had completely melted! When the lightbulb that came with the heating pad burned out, I bought proper lightbulbs from the store and they barely softened the wax. That was a few months ago and I thought I would never be able to use my heater again because I couldn't find the right lightbulbs. It turned out that the bulbs I bought from the store had clearly stated on the packaging that they were night light bulbs and they were (I think) only 4 watts. It's all my fault for not noticing. No wonder they didn't melt the wax! These worked perfectly as advertised and with the amount that comes in the box I don't think I'll need to order more for a very long time. Now that I have the right bulbs :) Just note that they are not advertised and are not designed for large paraffin melters, but for small burners the size of a night light. Not sure if other reviewers have tried using them in a large distiller or just gotten a faulty batch, but mine worked great!
