This is not real silk but polyester. If you burn a thread of real silk, it smells like burnt hair and turns to ash. Silk thread will NOT melt if you bring it to a lighter, unlike polyester. The thread test I did (of the fabric itself because it came with lead) proves it's fake. Notice the sphere of hard melted plastic at the end. Even after washing and drying the scarf (tumble dry, no heat) and leaving it in the dryer overnight, this scarf has no creases other than the original creases. See photo. This is typical of polyester, while silk would lose its original creases and wrinkle after tumble drying.
