USB hub starts falling off after a few months

Has been working fine for 2 months. Then the USB connection abruptly dropped and all peripherals stopped working. It works for a few minutes after reconnecting the dongle to the laptop, but it turns off after a while. Pay more and get a quality USB hub. It's useless, even for $9.
