Who knew I needed an active video adapter?!
I need a display port adapter for an HDMI KVM switch. I bought one from my local BestBuy but it never worked. I called IOGear tech support and a very helpful guy told me that there are some displayport adapters that are not active but passive (I think that was his terms). He gave me this particular part number and viola! I can now easily use my laptop (no HDMI port) and gaming PC through an HDMI KVM switch.
