I don't know why cookie jars are so expensive but other than that I really like this item. I made a black bear theme in my apartment and it was just the thing to complete my kitchen. The head fits snugly against the main reservoir, ensuring tightness. Forget stuffing this baby with extra large cookies! He's too small for that. I can fit just over half a pack of Oreos into a jar before it gets too full. never mind Just put the rest in a zip bag until you need a refill. Now if only I could find a badly tuned black bear toaster.
