Review on Curtain Grommets - 8 Pack, Pewter, 1.56 Inch by Dawn Fischer

Looks great on my curtains!

I recently converted some pleated curtains to eyelets. I didn't want to re-do the top of the upper so I wasn't sure if they would work with all the fabric, lining and webbing of the upper. But I tried them because the price is much better than metal grommets - and I needed 12 grommets per side, which was very expensive. And also . They worked like a charm. Here's what I put through the grommets: 2 layers of dupioni silk, 2 layers of regular lining, 1 layer of lining, and 1 layer of ribbon (like it can be used for pencil pleats or tucks). I found it helpful to place one side of the case on a hard surface protected with a towel (to avoid scratches) and place a paperback on the case and then tap it with your hand - perhaps a rubber was easier to use mallet on the book - so far it hasn't snapped - it wasn't too hard but it took some effort to get them to click together. They have been up for about 3 weeks now and we open or close the curtains at least twice a day and none of the grommets have come loose or shown any strain and they look great with the brushed metal rod they hang from. I am very happy with them and my curtains look a lot more fashionable now!
