Review on πŸ“· Neewer 2 Pack of 9ft/260cm Light Stands for Enhanced VR Experience with HTC Vive, Video Shooting, Professional Portraits, and Product Photography by Chris Lujan

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Handle with care! Very light and unobtrusive.

I measured the maximum possible height at 8ft 5" to the top of the plastic cap over the 1/4" thread on the top of the stud/bushing. At this height there is only a tiny overlap between each section of pipe which I don't think will withstand side loading or an accidental impact. My bathroom scale says each tripod weighs 2.6 pounds. How skinny would you be if you were 8ft 5 and weighed 2.6lbs? Okay, that's silly, but the point is, they're made out of very thin metal tubing and little plastic fittings. If handled with care I assume they are ok, but they are the complete opposite of "durable". Note I've seen a pair of 7ft tripods for almost half the price so I can only guess how fragile they can be! lower leg ends (see photo). They slip out very easily, so keep an eye on that. Less than 5 minutes after opening the box, two of these popped out when I tried to move the tripod a few inches to the side. I took them off and put them back on and now they feel a lot more secure. If (when) they do come out, not only will it gouge your bottom, it will potentially dent or crack the edge of that thin-walled tube. I measured the metal tube. The thickness of the legs is 0.41mm or 16 mils which gives an idea that since it is so light a sandbag or weight on the bottom would be stable. I think they will work fine for my light use. For the price I think I got what I paid for but definitely no more.
