This is entirely plausible if you don't insert batteries to make the LED flash. I bought two and started using them that way (the quality of the battery box was so poor I had to stuff it with paper to keep the batteries in place). The red LEDs kept blinking, and then I realized: You will NEVER see cameras like this with blinking LEDs in the real world. Black dome cameras are installed all over the campus where I work, they adorn the ceilings of practically every store I shop in, and none of them have flashing red LEDs. So I took out the batteries and suddenly they looked a lot more authentic. Oh, and unless I'm confusing this product with another, no motion LED activation - if this type has live batteries, the LED will flash. I took some velcro from Wally World, stuck it in a few spots, and it looks like a security camera. For this price that is completely sufficient. I'm just trying to scare off bad people so I don't have to break out of Mossberg. I was supposed to get industrial velcro tape but they were too deep into the "camera" case to make a really good stick. On the first cold morning 1 of 2 (the back porch) fell off because the velcro didn't work and was forgotten. Second cold morning 2 of 2 (porch) did the same.
