My son is almost 4 years old. I ordered these shorts for him in size 3T/4T. They have a relaxed fit and hit just below the knee. There is a discrepancy between black and red shorts regarding their belts. Red is much denser than black. Both work for my slim son. He has to tighten the black laces, and the red ones fit fine without laces, which is good because the laces on the red pair are ridiculously short. They barely protrude from the waistband and it's only a matter of time before they slip inside. The shorts have side pockets which my son loves. The tailor quality is very good. The light and soft 100% cotton fabric is great for outdoor play in summer.
