I kept one of these in my garage and the other in my pantry. There wasn't a good spot for it either: Garage: The motion sensor turns the lights off after about 30 seconds of no movement, which happened every time my wife went into the freezer or into the back of our relatively small garage. Pantry: The motion detection just didn't work in this case. In both situations, the bulbs take some time to charge, which takes about 3 seconds to light up. It's good that the light is on by default at that time, which is great. The bad news is that once fully charged, the light will go out and the motion sensor will need to be reactivated. So when you go into the storage room, flip the switch and then go inside when you're actually in the pantry. The pantry is looking for something, the light goes out and you have to wave the light to turn it on.
