I bought this unit because my Kodak DX6490 is too big to fit in my pocket and too heavy to wear around my neck for any length of time. I wanted something small, light and took great pictures. Not sure if you can have both (small and takes great pictures). I think my Kodak spoiled me. The stylus takes good pictures and has many features, but it doesn't have the image quality of my DX6490. I'll use it when I don't want to carry a heavy camera around my neck all day and it works reasonably well in good daylight. But distant photos and images in the shade or in low light are so-so. Like I said, maybe I'm used to great pictures from my DX6490 and not good pictures from my Stylus 9000.
