At first I didn't even want to write a review on it because there are already so many positive reviews about it, but after coming across something super gross I felt really compelled to give the current one Owners of these / future buyers a head-up. I have two house cats and two street cats. The reason they are outside is not my choice trust me because I adore animals and love to help them. I live with my dad and as you know when you live with someone you have to be too polite about their wants/needs and he's not that crazy about having four cats in the house (our house isn't small but in the long run not huge either) and most importantly I had two house cats before I moved to my current home and found my two street cats living on my property so I have to consider their needs as well - four cats (as well as two dogs) can fit in a medium sized house not good and won't make them too happy, especially my cats as they like to have the cosmos. Both of my outdoor cats are treated and given the same love and care as my indoor cats, with the only difference being that they live outside. I live out of town, have no neighbors for many miles and have 13 acres of land to keep them safe and they NEVER get closer than 100 feet to a road (there is only one road in front of my house but my house is about 400 feet back, so not directly on the toad), if they hear even the sound of a car, they will safely return to the house. Which brings me to why I bought this. I have a garage which I set up very well for them, so when the weather is this bad I take them to my garage (my cars are kept in my workshop, it's a separate building) but the thing is Cleo and Mufasa (mine both street cats) actually not all are crazy about each other, i will bring both of them if it's bad, but they hiss at each other and mufasa is not 100% calm with people, he is still a bit headstrong, so i don't understand him in garage super hard but not super easy either, while Cleo is the complete opposite. So I bought this for Mufasa, of course I still bring him home when the weather gets really bad, but regularly that's fine. Mufasa is often located there so I figured it would be a good spot. and i was right he used it a lot BUT i walked past him today and saw it had dirt and mulch from the garden on it as he went in and out so i walked up to him and took him to a Heated pad to shake out dirt and guess what happened? Ants lived in it, they actually made an anthill under it! π€’ And don't worry it's getting better, I took a broom to brush off the ants, then I disassembled it, and while I was doing that a cockroach flew out, after I calmed down I pulled up the heating mat, and underneath was another small cockroach. Wool blanket and two catchy tunes π€’π€’ I sorted the whole thing out right away and threw the cover with the heating mat in the washing machine. So, I summarize: it works, the quality is good, waterproof, my cat likes it, but your baby already doesn't hurt. warm but don't be surprised if you see nasty bugs there trying to keep warm too π€’ I'm really not sure what can be done to keep the bugs out, it's very gross but I wanted you let everyone know. There's nothing to do, but being prepared for inconvenience is better than nothing.
