I used this telescoping stool in our 3/4 ton pickup truck while driving. My husband tied a rope to it to make a handle and I put it on the ground and then stepped on it. It worked great for a week or so. We don't talk multiple times a day, not even multiple times a week. Maximum 5 times a week. Twice he collapsed on me when I stepped on him. I'm not approaching the 550 pound weight limit. It worked great from the start and my husband made sure the rope didn't get in the way of the stool. Hand on the door frame and the other on the armrest of the door. I hold on with all my strength and then climb onto a stool. I'm careful not to jump or fall on a stool. I've had knee and back surgery and the pressure when it collapses makes me burst open. I have to use a stool, but as soon as I find another one I like, I'll swap it out. If we examine it, we cannot understand how this happens. We set it to the right height, I pick it up and put it in the pickup when I'm done, and I don't fold or alter it. There is no reason why this is done. I had to change my report because someone could be in worse shape than me and could be seriously injured if they weren't more careful.
