Review on πŸ—„οΈ Espresso Rolling Storage and File Cabinet by Techni Mobili by Rhonda Quire

Revainrating 2 out of 5

I WANTED TO GIVE THIS FIVE STARS.

I'm disappointed because I wanted to like it. It would be five stars if it was actually the advertised color. This is very good for what it is. I ordered the espresso version of this cabinet and. It's not an espresso. It is black. So he doesn't come to the table next to which I will be sitting. I photographed it next to two pieces of espresso colored furniture I own and even the terrible camera on my phone shows that this is clearly not the color advertised. I understand that colors may vary slightly from company to company, but it's BLACK and calling it espresso is just plain wrong. Assembly: First of all, reviews mentioning that it has many parts and cannot be assembled are exaggerated. In fact, there are exactly 20 pieces in it; 5 for drawer and 5 for main body plus hardware. In my experience, when moving slowly, assembly is no more difficult than other unassembled furniture. The instructions aren't amazing, and at one point I was told to turn part of the locking mechanism upside down, but they are fully functional. It took me about two hours to assemble, from opening the box to rolling up the finished file. This could probably be shortened by half an hour with an electric screwdriver. Build Quality: This is MDF wood. This is not a $300 solid wood or thick metal cabinet. Knowing this is very good for what it is. It's durable, although I definitely wouldn't use it as a stool or to store your lead weight collection. I have a desktop tower on it and I'm not worried about it breaking. The drawers use very simple metal runners and the bottoms of the drawers are made of fiberboard. A few pounds per drawer is no problem, and the bottom drawer has guides for letter-size suspension files. Lock out. Spring. If you're buying an $80 filing cabinet for security reasons, you're barking up the wrong tree. It works, when you turn the key, the drawers no longer open. All three drawers are locked simultaneously. This will keep a child or nosy roommate out, but for those who really want to see what's inside, a few hard tugs will likely break the mechanism. I didn't buy it for this purpose, so I don't mind. One final note: the wheels can be removed without interfering with opening the bottom drawer (although I recommend using a few extra screws on the wheel rails that will hold the drawer in place if you do this, since the wheel is attached to the bottom drawer). bottom drawer is quite heavy). Without wheels, the cabinet height is just under 23 inches. Verdict: If you know this is MDF flat furniture (and it's BLACK, not ESPRESSO!) I'd say it's a very good deal for what it is. If you need real security or a cupboard to pass on to the family, you are looking in the wrong price range. If, like me, you're just looking for a small, cheap, but quality hanging cabinet to help you organize yourself, this is a great choice.

  • Finally bought it
Cons
  • Not as thick as the others
