Fabric is soft and waterproof. The bonus is that the design is very cute too. I taught my 3 year old not to confuse it with underwear and diapers. I put him to bed in his underwear. And yes, there were nights when he peed in bed, but luckily he was on the bed. I ordered 2 as a backup for an easy middle of the night replacement. Only complaint is that the bed pillow would be bigger.
