rx100 - Underwater Animal

I didn't buy this from Revain but wanted to give another opinion on it (I have). I've owned it since last September (2013). I took it to the Dominican Republic and I use it a lot when I go to the pool with my son. I'm not an underwater photographer, I just love my rx100 m2 and wanted to use it in the water (and underwater). not for my body, trust me) and it always seems like the start of a conversation. When people see how I use it, it might seem like a bit of an overstatement, but when I share my photos on Facebook, they usually get the most likes, all because of the unfamiliar angles and the quality of the image. . . The rx100 is far superior to your standard "waterproof" cameras. Camera controls are very easy, even underwater. (sorry the case is not designed to use the rx100 lens ring). When I use the word simple, remember that this is not a comparison to using a camera when it's not in a housing. Of course, if you have a little mutual freebie with this camera, it's a hard plastic body with external grips for accessing the controls. I love this bag but if it broke I would probably buy the XCSOURCEยฎ Waterproof Dive Box Bag. The 40m body for the Sony DSC-RX100 II M2 LF267 is easy because it's cheaper and more than adequate for what I'm using it for. (Xcsource hadn't released a model when I left for the Dominican Republic last year). When it comes to photo quality, it's top notch. I am in the rx100 facebook group and many underwater photographers are posting pictures based on this hull. It's in need of maintenance and since I'm not always in the salt water it's pretty easy for me to take care of it. When I was in salt water you do what they say, give it a quick rinse under water and then let it air out overnight. DO NOT lose the front cover, you don't want to waste your whole body scratching the front lens! it's pricey but then again you wouldn't want to jump in the pool with a $600 camera protected by a $40 zip bag ;) If I had to be picky, what I don't like about this property; 1. If you have bought or plan to buy a rubber grip for your rx100, forget it! The base to which the camera is attached is very dense. I couldn't put my camera in without breaking one of the support pins (which I didn't mean to do!)2. It would be nice to have a front grip for the lens disc3. More flash memory. The flash only pops up slightly to make it easier to trigger the external flash. However, when I'm in the pool, a pop-up flash would be more than enough to help, and given the position it's in, it's more harmful than helpful.4. Stronger water-repellent coating on the front lens. I have to remember to wipe it off as soon as I get out of the water or my shots will have raindrops! (doh) I love this case, and if you have the money and need quality underwater photos, this is a serious decision (or what I've listed above will work too).
